Description
I’m accompanied by a feeling of calm mixed with fear and uncertainty about what might happen in the hours when there’s no light… This artwork, where you have to get close to see it properly because of its darkness, puts you in that situation. Observe it and delve into it, into each trunk and each bush, into the treetops.
If we walk through Montseny in spring, with its trees laden with branches that don’t let much light through, and when night approaches, the darkness arrives sooner, among the branches and bushes, the sounds begin to change, our pupils dilate trying to take everything in, but night is near, and the colors begin to blur, becoming only shadows. Have you ever walked through a forest near dusk?
Your senses are heightened; the sounds, the smells, the creaking of things around you lead to a feeling of smallness, and you look at the treetops searching for the light. Fear begins to appear, a result of not knowing what lies beyond that darkness. Only the animals of the night will be out there; they will see you, but you won’t see them.
